ALL ABOUT MAIA:

 Maia grew up in San Jose, California surrounded by her supportive parents and two younger sisters. Her childhood was full of family, friends, and exploring the outdoors. She started dancing at age 4 when her mom put her in a jazz, tap combo class. During the early school years, she dabbled in soccer, volleyball and musical theater, but by age 12 decided to dedicate all her extra time to dance. She spent 10 years competing in various competitions and conventions. In high school, Maia was captain of her school dance team and participated in the school choir. Maia trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary throughout high school and into college.

Out of high school Maia auditioned into the Long Beach State dance program. There she trained in various modern techniques and Broadway styles. She also explored her interest for anatomy, physiology, and Pilates. After 2 years at Long Beach State, Maia transferred to American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) with goals to focus on theatrical and commercial dance styles. In addition to extensive dance classes, AMDA provided Maia the opportunity for training in singing and acting. Throughout her time at AMDA, Maia was part of many dance productions where she performed in a variety of styles. With her BFA in dance from AMDA, Maia is eager to show the dance industry her talents, passion, and strong work ethic.
